Graduation... Finally...

I haven't been posting much in the last year, and for good reason. I went back to school. The knees were repaired and I was ready to head back to classes. After much looking around of where to go, I found I had three more years of classes with GMU. I wanted a place that would allow me to graduate in less time than that, maybe two years. Gallaudet University had their Adult Degree Program. One of the requirements was that I have 120 credits, and I had 151 transferrable credits. My classes would be on campus and online. I declared my major of Info Tech and started my first semester with two classes while I went through the approval process.

The approval process was more of an up and down argument process among the dean and other people. I was accepted for various reasons and a technicality, that the Undergraduate Catalog wasn't clear on what kind of classes I would take, in terms of online, on campus, etc. Finally I was accepted about 3 weeks before the end of the semester. That next semester had me enrolled in five classes, two online 8 week classes and three normal classes on campus.

But what a crazy final year it's been...

Gally Homecoming Game Win - 10/22

It was a pretty interesting Homecoming game on October 22 against Becker College. Gally won 44-20. A couple safeties, and a bunch of touchdowns and field goals. Just when it looked like Becker was going to catch up, Gally thundered ahead. It was 24-0 at half time.

The food choices weren't as much as last time, but there were still some nice choices. It looked like people added desserts and stuff around half time. It was a pretty big crowd as well.

Gally Homecoming game rout

Saturday the 18th I was with Jamie at the Gallaudet Homecoming game against Southern Virginia. Sherlock Steve was there as well. Within the first quarter, the score was 0-20.

But whoa... Is it me or are the student groups improving their food offerings? Though they may be a little overpriced, there's still some gastronomic delights being served, including the ice cream table. Sorenson was there, as well as NVAD and a few other groups. Jamie was pulled aside by someone who mentioned the new Gallaudet Museum.

As the game progressed, more people started to leave the game, either to talk for awhile or just to leave campus. The bookstore is always a great place to go within the student center. The street area between the SLCC and stadium were loaded with people all through the game, and you can count on that for future games.

Gallaudet Loses Homecoming Game to Southern Virginia 44-9

In the fourth quarter, Gally managed to redeem themselves by way of a safety and a touchdown. Then the final buzzer had the score at 44-9. Tough team, that Southern Virginia, but I think we can do better next time.

Article: "Sound and the Fury"

No, it's not something about the classic show "Sound and Fury." It's about a deaf football team.

It's about Coach Hottle and when he started with Gallaudet University. Teams thought they could easily beat Gally. With Hottle as coach, it was the other way around. Gally beat them.
